Twas The Night Before Christmas
June 1 - 5

Make Believe & Beyond (MBB) is the reimagining of a story, or collection of stories, told on stage, often with the help of a narrator. At BackStory, we use the Make Believe & Beyond model which embraces actor's unique storytelling abilities, building confidence and encouraging skill acquisition.
Students learn the aspects of what makes a story, then apply those literacy skills to creating their own story inspired by the given theme, story, folk or fairy tale. Then with the help of a narrator these students perform their 10-15 minute play on stage.
All classes will be held at the BCC (Broomfield Community Center) 280 Spader Way, Broomfield, 80020. Specific room assignments will be communicated to you by your student's teacher.
Minimum enrollment 4, maximum 15.
A performance will be held Friday during the final 30 minutes of class at the BCC. Friends/family/neighbors and more are welcome!

The Christmas Cookie Catastrophe

This camp is a mini-musical complete with singing, dancing and acting!

Imaginative Play June, Kinder Prep

Calling all kindergarteners! This special class is just for our young friends who will be starting kindergarten in the fall of 2026. Using our awesome Make Believe and Beyond format of cooperation to build a foundation, students will work together and with their instructor to grow in the pro-social skills they'll need in school!
We'll use stories, games, movement activities, and pretend play (with costumes!) to learn how to work together, follow instructions, share ideas, and build stamina for a 5-day week.
All classes will be held at the BST Studio, 3400 Industrial Lane, Ste 10D, Broomfield, 80020
Minimum enrollment 4, maximum 10.

Between the Line: Scene Study Workshop (3 day camp)

Great acting lives between the words. Between the Lines is a one-day intensive for middle and high school actors ready to go deeper — exploring subtext, character motivation, and the moments that make a scene truly come alive. Through scene work, discussion, and performance, students will discover what it really means to listen, respond, and connect onstage.

Between the Lines: Scene Study Workshop (1 day session)
July 20 - 24th
5pm - 8pm
11 - 13 yrs
12 Hours to Curtain will find actors collaborating to create a short performance piece with the help of castmates and an adult director. From characters to plot and more, actors will have approximately 12 hours over the course of 4 days to create and rehearse their show. A performance will be held on the final day of the camp, Friday at 7:30pm.
This class will rely heavily on teamwork and creativity, all while practicing devised theatre in order to participate in the creation of a performance piece.

Between the Lines: Scene Study Workshop (1 day session)

Audition Skills

Auditioning is all about preparation! Learn and practice the basics of audition technique. Bring a song and monologue (or select one from suggestions on the first day) to work on with direct feedback and support from instructors throughout the week.
This class will help prepare performers for any audition including our Fall 2026 Musical (TBA) and for strong first impressions in theatrical spaces and beyond! Build confidence through preparation and helpful feedback.
(This class will NOT influence casting for our Fall Musical. Consideration for the Fall Musical will be fully based on the August audition.)

BackStory Crash Pilot Program
July 27 - 31

6 - 12 grade
BackStory's Crash Pilot Program - a crash course about writing, directing, filming and editing an original tv pilot episode. Students will learn to use their own cameras along with industry tools such as Final Draft 10 to write their scripts, DaVinci Resolve and GarageBand to edit footage and mix audio.
